MODUS - a platform for expanded fashion practice

“So what does fashion practice look like if it breaks with the monumental—the spectacular? What is a fashion practice that evades commodification? And as Krauss similarly questions, how do we begin mapping such practices within and across the field of fashion? —MODUS

MODUS was published in conjunction with the launch of MODUS, a network to support and connect expanded fashion practitioners around the world. The project was initiated by Ruby Hoette and Caroline Stevenson through Onomatopee with Roland Brauchli. MODUS primarily consists of a glossary of verbs that function as the starting place for new definitions of what it means to “work in fashion,” as well as an online database that invites practitioners to share their work and place it in context with other works via terms in the glossary.
