Magazine Reader 04

A Magazine Reader 04 is part of an ongoing research practice initiated by Femke de Vries and Hanka van der Voet. With each Magazine Reader, a single issue of a “glossy” mainstream fashion magazine is chosen, analyzed, collaged and dissected into a new zine. Through re-reading the fashion magazine and engaging with its materials, form, paper and content through a critical lens, the reader becomes aware of the value systems at play in fashion media, and becomes an active participant in the myth-making of a fashion magazine.
